[Error: unknown template qotd]In today's world it's hard to think about what really hasn't been discussed in written form.  Certainly news and other media sources focus and analyze current events.  And anytime Britney Spears so much as burps, it makes the tabloids.  Honestly, what could there be left to write about?

Lots.  Have you ever noticed the amount of Self-Help books out on the shelves?  It seems that there is a huge market for improving oneself be it through weight loss, weight gain, changing your mental outlook on life, etc.  The lesson being passed on here is that you're never good enough.  Everyone has issues and the only way you'll be of value to the rest of the world is to change.

I think it's high time that someone wrote a book that accepted who they were.  The, "I'm not perfect and that's ok by me" book.  It would need a better title than that, of course.  This book wouldn't sell anything or give anyone hints on how to lead a better, McValue Sized life.  Instead it would simply stress that life isn't about being perfect.  It's about accepting who you are and making the most of it, despite your personal limitations.

I'd write this book, but I don't think I'd be the greatest example.  Plus, with all my recent weight loss, I'm not really sure I am ok with my body image.  Which is crazy considering I've lost weight and therefore, should be inspired by looking healthier.  If you've never been fat, it's hard to explain this, but there is a whole mental development that comes with being fat that is hard to break free from.  I'll be battling my self-image for the rest of my life.

The point of all this is that we just need more good things being put out there in/by our media.  Everything just seems to have a negative edge, or an implied negative edge, which I sometimes think is worse.  Instead of trying to improve each other, why don't we lift each other up and celebrate the fact we're imperfect.  I happen to think that's a lot healthier than living off celery sticks.
